Suicide Bombers Shot Dead At Canary Wharf

They haven't stopped trying to kill.

A New Zealander working for Reuters in London says two colleagues witnessed the unconfirmed shooting by police of two apparent suicide bombers outside the HSBC tower at Canary Wharf in London.

The New Zealander, who did not want to be named, said the killing of the two men wearing bombs happened at 10.30am on Thursday (London time).

Following the shooting, the 8000 workers in the 44-storey tower were told to stay away from windows and remain in the building for at least six hours, the New Zealand man said.

He was not prepared to give the names of his two English colleagues, who he said witnessed the shooting from a building across the road from the tower.

Reports of attacks carried out by suicide bombers have been rife in London.

Canada's Globe and Mail newspaper reported an unconfirmed incident of police shooting a bomber outside the HSBC tower.

Canadian Brendan Spinks, who works on the 18th floor of the tower, said he saw a "massive rush of policemen" outside the building after London was rocked by the bombings.

Wow.

Thank God.

#2 Frank IBC at 9:17 pm on Jul 09, 2005

I'm really scared for Italy and Denmark, though.

#3 Marine Momma at 4:26 am on Jul 10, 2005

Good morning Frank and bloggie:) I'm glad they got 2 also. Wasn't there more than Italy and Denmark that was warned by the goons?

#4 From London at 4:34 am on Jul 10, 2005

Can any one find another news source of this besides the New Zealand Herald. I don't think this can be called a confirmed report that someone told someone who told the Newspaper.

It sounds terribly wild west, perhaps, but "The only good terrorist is a dead terrorist."

#6 mauro at 4:38 am on Jul 10, 2005

Frank, we're next (Italy) but hey, if we have to pay a blood tax to show we will not be intimidated then so be it. It is inevitable in a democratic country to go through this stuff occasionally. Some people will use your freedom against you. But we have been through 30 years of left wing terrorism (Red Brigades) with dozens of attacks. Bologna bomb killed 82, Italicus train 20 odd and many other atrocities. A bit like the Brits and the IRA/UVF. On top of that we've had Mafia atrocities for over 100 years now. Mafia overall killed a lot more than the IRA in the UK or the many terrorist org in Italy. (28 only in Naples only in February) All I am trying to say is that, unlike the US, we are used to this garbage. It wont make it any sweeter and their islamic bombs will hurt but have 0 chances of making us change our path. I think that, overall, this is their greatest misunderstanding of "us". They think we will be easy pray of panic. They confuse our moral decay (and we have one going) with weakness. We are not weak, we are not going to panic. We are, like you, in love with peace and democracy and true love is always stronger than hate. We're all targets.....but so are they. They use bombs, we use TV, radio and Internet. Far more devastating weapons...

Great link, Mauro.

Too bad no-one in the media has seen fit to publicize it.
They say 18 journalists were there, both Iraqi and international, but it has not newspapers or television in this country.
Once again, the Mud Stream Media shows it can't be bothered to report anything which might, however remotely, show that the Iraqi front of the WOT is making progress.

#9 mauro at 5:07 am on Jul 10, 2005

There is another subtle war going on. The one between the mainstream paper-selling media and the blog-world. Mainstream media ignore, lie and appease v blogs at war with islamism and telling it how it is. and we are not afraid!

#10 From London at 5:12 am on Jul 10, 2005

I agree with Mauro these terrorists are not a threat to our way of life - how the politicians present it. They arent even capable of a sunstained campaign like the IRA was. They are capable of playing a game of Russian Roulette. where they will leave suspect packages around the country - probably in the North of England where they are probably originally from most will be false alarms causing disruption until one is real. But There has been terrorism around for centuries. However I disagree with most of you here about the Iraq front. There never should have been one. Although now there is we have to deal with it. This should not be seen as a military war but an intellegence war.

#11 Marine Momma at 5:19 am on Jul 10, 2005

OT. Has anyone kept up with the missing Seal in Afghan.? The goons are claiming they captured him and have already beheaded him. If this were true, don't you think they would have used it for publicity like the others? There haven't been any pictures or videos of the Seal, makes me think the goons are getting desperate for lies.

#12 mauro at 5:21 am on Jul 10, 2005

We are not just waiting for it to happen....we react and differently from other police forces, our is used to dirty mafia wars...also...read the "Al-Qaeda: "Italy is Next"" and Mass arrests made in Milan swoops in the link above....we are not afraid....still, the next time someone quotes "The Guardian" here as a reference ask him/her to read "The Appeasement Has Begun" on this same link....we will not appease, we will not be intimidated. We will prevail simply because our message is based on love and tolerance not oppression and racism.

#13 Dances With Typos at 5:31 am on Jul 10, 2005

Marine Momma;

If the SEAL was captured and beheaded, they would have used it for publicity, unless he, like the one Italian hostage, was defiant and did not beg or cry.

They will not use videos that expose them as the cowards they are, and/or show their victims as courageous.

I am sorry I cannot remember the name of the Italian hostage who was so brave in the face of his murderers, perhaps Mauro will know, or I can try to google it.

#14 Marine Momma at 5:36 am on Jul 10, 2005

DWT, I think I'm leaning on the side that the goons never had him to start with and I pray the remaining SEAL is hiding somewhere. It also makes me wonder who the high target person was that they were going after.

#15 mauro at 5:36 am on Jul 10, 2005

DWT here he is......

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

there are men and there are cowards. Isn't it a great way to die to refuse to kneel and say "look how an Italian dies" to your captors? I am sure the seal went the same way. But maybe and just maybe he is hiding away in a mountain waiting for rescue. Do not abandone hope.

#16 Dances With Typos at 5:36 am on Jul 10, 2005

OK, the heroic Italian hostage was named Fabrizzio Quatrocchi (sp?) and here is a little story about him.
Propaganda defeat

#17 Marine Momma at 5:37 am on Jul 10, 2005

mauro, what does the wording say going across his picture?

#18 Marine Momma at 5:39 am on Jul 10, 2005

DWT, thanks for sending the link, I don't think I read that!

#19 mauro at 5:40 am on Jul 10, 2005

MM I am starting to form my own theory...OBL is dead or captive but the US wont say that in order keep his charisma there to attract the loonies. He is the bait. A bit like Mr Zarqawi. I think they are both dead but have more value "alive" as A) they cannot be made martyres and B) they can be used as cheese in a mouse trap.....I believe the CIA etc are a clever bunch and I would expect them to play it this way.

#20 mauro at 5:42 am on Jul 10, 2005

MM it says "now I will show you how an Italian dies"....what a way to go!

#21 Dances With Typos at 5:46 am on Jul 10, 2005

Mauro, thanks, the link I found did not have a picture, and Signore Quatrocchi deserves to be remembered as a hero.

#22 Marine Momma at 5:47 am on Jul 10, 2005

mauro, thanks for the translation! I have never been a big believer in conspiracies but find myself adding more 'meat' to them daily. I wouldn't be surprised if we had bin laden and/or zarqawi. I wish they were both dead, really, but they both can be used either way. But, there have been a few major confrontations in the Afghan mountains and I have to wonder who is there.
OT, again:), Tancredo is talking about running for pres. based on border security. Is he any good?

#23 mauro at 5:54 am on Jul 10, 2005

I am having a real good time looking through all the photo posted here...you MUST go check'em out!

#24 Dances With Typos at 6:06 am on Jul 10, 2005

Mauro;

Some of those are silly, some uplifting, but all are great, and not afraid!!

#25 mauro at 6:07 am on Jul 10, 2005

It's the message that counts...WE ARE NOT AFRAID!

#26 Dances With Typos at 6:09 am on Jul 10, 2005

Marine Momma;

I add my prayers that the one remaining SEAL is hiding out, somewhere.

#27 mauro at 6:14 am on Jul 10, 2005

DWT he is.....and if he is not then he is taking his shining medal from St Peter himself. We owe so much to our soldiers!

#28 mauro at 6:33 am on Jul 10, 2005

I'm off to work people. Have missed DL in the last few days but I am back now! Talk soon everybody!

#29 cba at 11:59 am on Jul 10, 2005

The guy who's reporting this didn't see it himself, and he refuses to name the person he claims told him about it.

Colour me not convinced.

No comment on your comments. We all want to get rid of terrorism. But we first need to know who are the real terrorists. Deception doesn't mean that it must be real.

I would like you all to visit the following link:

I'm betting you can all get that right even without clicking on any of the links.

I was told about the canary wharf shooting it did happen my source said someone they knew who worked in Mi5 told them about it. there are lots of secrets that some people do not want us the ordinary public to know about. I am one of those ordinary people!

#33 l8in at 12:02 pm on Apr 07, 2008

if people were shot at CW,
they would probably be the kids set up by our security forces to take the blame 4 the bombings.
false flag incident.
yet again.
