Wow. Hillary doesn’t support our allies in Colombia, and Barry O is endorsed by frickin’ FARC.

Uribe is one of our few constant allies in South America, and Hillary wants to sell him down the river…for what? Is that what liberals call “rebuilding America’s image abraod”–telling the people who are on our side to take a hike? That’s a great message. Support America, get kicked in the nards.

Are there some Hawaiian coffee farmers who are kicking in big bucks to the Hillary campaign or something?

Actually the Colombians fired him first.

Colombian officials said they terminated their contract with lobbying and public relations giant Burson-Marsteller in response to a statement released Friday by Penn, the firm's chief executive, calling the meeting an "error in judgment." Clinton opposes the trade deal.

"The Colombian government considers this a lack of respect to Colombians, and finds this response unacceptable," government officials said in a news release.

#6 franco cbi at 6:00 pm on Apr 06, 2008

In the Clinton's case, the Colombian kerfuffle may have been simply the straw on the camel's back and/or just a pretext.

Or maybe she doesn’t like anything with “free trade” in the title.

Umm, no. It's that she doesn't like to see anything with 'free' in the title, except abortion, of course.

Ya know, though, she is not the worst one.

BarryO, given that;
A) he is such a HUGE supporter of baby-killing (whether pre or post birth), and
B) he is trying his damnedest to be 'black' for the sake of support from both black Americans and 'mea culpa' whites, and
C) a much larger percentage of possible black than white babies are aborted,
makes one wonder just how many possible future voters for himself he has had a hand in murdering?

I know they don't teach real math in the Ivy League, but can even an 'affirmative action' lawyer be so utterly f'ing stupid?

Obama is culturally white and wants to know his other side. Many people of mixed descent whether racial, national or religious do that. Seems natural.

Jesus Memphis Bill....is that tongue in cheek, or are you serious?

If so, just WHAT is "culturally white?"

When did anthropology begin equating "culture" with "race?"

As natural as a half-Jewish, half-German kid who starts decorating his room with Nazi memorabilia.

His father was out of the picture at age two. He was raised by his white mother and white grandparents.
See the writings of Richard Wright, Langston Hughes. His maternal family never suffered the aftermath of slavery. Did not transmit despair.

A better analogy might be a half-Jewish, half-German kid attending Nazi party rallies in Germany in the 20s. It did happen.

So you do acknowledge that UCC is, in fact, a moral and spiritual kin of NSDAP.

That's absolutely correct. You may have noticed, in the unscientific way in which we go about our daily lives, that Black immigrants from the Caribbean and Africa just don't carry the same psychological "baggage" as many U.S. born Black people. It is so striking as to be noticeable.

I wrote a few days ago - I don't know if Rev. Wright is dealing out of anger or hatred. I can deal with the former, not the latter. The burden is on Rev Wright. The NSDAP dealt from hatred. Some analogies could be drawn. The NSDAP sought to attract 90%+ of Germans. Wright seeks to influence about 10% of Americans.

Very true and noticeable.

The baggage which we Americans bear has far more to do with the Klan than slavery.

BTW, I have no problem with the Uniform Commercial Code.

Fine...but you did not answer my questions. Two anguished black authors are hardly explanatory. That's just more of the we know whites you but you don't know us blacks baloney.

Obama may not have grown up in a black family environment, but his black affiliation was obvious, socially, and he grew up with that fact...an issue realted to culture and related to race, but not the same...one is physical, the other emotional/intellectual. IMO, in America, it is virtually impossible for a black person, even an Octaroon who isn't "passing," to be culturally white. Very simply, their own peers will not allow it. Obama is no more culturally white than Reverand Wright, he just has better manners and wits.

My guess would be he's been successful with the hate scheme and greed was the driver, if you have to get down to primal motivations. The $1.7 Million new house his church congregation just gave him gratis is one example.

Gotta add to that remark that the majority of whites will not allow it either, even if the action is not overt, actually a sub-conscious reaction that is obvious to an observer.

Example: You are eating dinner in a normally all white expensive restaurant that requires reservations well in advance, etc.,....a black couple walks in, even dressed in conventional conservative business attire, do you look up? Do you take any more notice than you do of the other dinners who've entered after you? Does a momenetary thought pass your mind about why they're here?

It's not to feel guilty about if you do, if anyone does, it is a natural observation of something different. However, it doesn't "feel" that benign from the other side. I've stated that I considered my assimilation a success in Korea when I could walk in to a room full of Koreans and no one looked up. My height alone made me noticeable, then my occidental features, and finally my accent. It didn't happen every time, but when it did it felt good. I suspect blacks feel much like I did when they can enter somewhere primarily white (still the vast majority in the USA) and not be noticed any more than anyone else. Just my opinion, based upon experience.

True and noticeable, as Frank said....for visitors or short term residents...those who remain here soon pick up the "baggage" due to peer pressure....with rare exception, such as General Colin Powell. Gen Powell even comments at one point in his book about black folks just acting black when alone with each other.
