afw, I would love to join you in protest if I was on your side of the country! Luckily, we are only 15 min from R. Corrie's alma mater and 1/2 hr from Ft. Lewis so we'll get in plenty of counter-protesting time.
Just last night, during/after an Evergreen college-sponsored Dead Prez concert, attendees spit upon and attacked female cop called in by event (campus) security. They then proceeded to turn over a cop car and set fire to various items; local loony paper seemed to sympathize with the thugs.
