Per the 'Director'....Sex Week is an interdisciplinary sex education program designed to pique students’ interest through creative, interactive, and exciting programming.
Oh, my...Yalies need piquing of their sex iterests?
Sounds more like a clinic for ED and Frigidity to me....Yale ought to really be more selective in the admissions department, for gosh sakes.
That reminds me of a Tafeeli joke. On the first day of college at Yarmouk U, the dean is giving orientation to the students. He says, "if a young man enters the women's dorm, he'll pay 300 dinars the first time. The second time, it's 1000 dinars, and the third time, 2000 dinars." A Tafeeli student raises his hand and goes "how much for a year's subscription?"
Two curious omissions from "Sex Week," based on what's listed in the schedule:
1) The past year or so -- i.e., an eternity in college-freshman terms -- has seen the emergence of several websites that facilitate the upload and webcasting of X-rated videos based on the technological model of YouTube. (In fact, one of the best-known such sites is called, predictably, XTube.) You might think that anything combining the YouTube concept with porn would be a natural topic for a purportedly educational sex seminar aimed at college students. But one looks in vain for any mention of this new development, which for better or for worse makes it much easier for anyone to become an amateur pornographer. It's tempting to wonder whether the commercial porn interests sponsoring Sex Week are too wary of the XXX-tube model as a threat to profitability.
2) No mention of homosexual themes, either. I'm not complaining, here -- I'm sure that the topic will in fact get coverage in the actual seminars. It was just quite a surprise that The LGBTQXYZ Community was NOT used for PC Cover by the organizers of this Sex Week thing. (As in, "Ignorance about human sexuality contributes to the difficulties faced by LGBTQXYZ teenagers. Therefore, if you oppose Yale Sex Week in any way, you are implicitly encouraging LGBTQXYZ teens to commit suicide.")
Glad to see that Dr. Ruth is alive and kicking. When she does pass, it'll be interesting to see how cultural and religious conservatives assess her career and influence.
Throbert, I think the topic of "user generated porn" (xtube, youporn, et al) would most likely be touched on by Steven Hirsch, the Vivid founder. I've read a couple of articles on the subject where he's been quoted. Love to be at the Q&A for that one.
In 1993, Kemp also co-founded (with Bill Bennett and Jeane Kirkpatrick)[12] the free market advocacy group Empower America, which later merged with Citizens for a Sound Economy to form Freedom Works, but resigned as Co-Chairman of Freedom Works in March 2005 after he was questioned by the FBI about his ties to Samir Vincent, a Northern Virginia oil trader implicated in the U.N. Oil-for-food scandal who pled guilty to four criminal charges stemming from the scandal, including illegally acting as an unregistered lobbyist of the Iraqi government of Saddam Hussein.
In 2006, Kemp, along with another unsuccessful vice-presidential candidate, John Edwards, co-chaired the Council on Foreign Relations task force on Russia, producing a document called Russia’s Wrong Direction: What the United States Can and Should Do.
On January 6, 2008 he endorsed John McCain in the 2008 Republican presidential primaries shortly before the New Hampshire primary, which was a surprise to many conservative Republican tax-cutters.

Because college students need seminars on sex.
.. presented by the porn industry.

I humbly volunteer my services. Nothing is more important to our country than our youth.
Specifically, our nubile youth.

Yale gives meaning to the term 'educated idiots'
No disagreement here....recent Yale alums of note:
GHW Bush 41
WJ Clinton 42
GW Bush 43
HR Clinton...uh, OMG no, please!!!
And Ha'vaad is no betta (BH Obama)....another star chamber encircled by mirrors to concentrate the hubris.
We've had 20 years straight of Ivy - Yale leadership, with a potential for 8 more of either Ivy - Yale or kissin cousin Ha'vaad.
G-d help us now in our time of need :-)
Anyone who is under 45 has never seen a presidential ballot without the name "Bush" on it, in either the first or second position. Scary.
There has been a Bush or a Dole on the ticket for every election since 1976. But there was no Bush in 96.
Oh, you're right, sorry.
