So you died in last week's apocalypse?

What has life been like as a spirit for a week?
#2 monkeyweather at 3:35 pm on Oct 12, 2007
Oh, it's quite nice really here in heaven.
Wait! If I'm in heaven....and we all died in the October 12th apocalypse....where are YOU?
#3 franco cbi at 3:37 pm on Oct 12, 2007
There's "Born Again", but "Died Again" is ridiculous.
#4 franco cbi at 3:38 pm on Oct 12, 2007
Feh.

It's too cold here, and they don't turn the heat on until the 18th.

I think I'm heading to that other place.

Yes...but it did happen once ;O)
Matthew 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.

So all this time everyone's been watching October 12th, and it went by without us really knowing it? :OD That's really funny! How anticlimactic!

Yikes! Frank, it's even cold HERE, and I'm in southern California!
I've been walking around wearing a sweater AND a jacket all day long. Hey, Home Depot and Lowes have neato little space heaters for like $20-30. If you get the metal kind they seem to last longer. And don't, like, burn your house down with you in it. Which is a good marketing angle.

Send some of that cold my way. It's still 86° here.

Just to add for no real reason, we didn't hit 100° this year. Not once. I can't remember that ever happening.
I {heart} Global Warming.

It was in the 90s earlier this week, but the high today was barely above 60F.
#11 franco cbi at 3:57 pm on Oct 12, 2007
Wow, RIP Ford - DC had at least two or three days above 100F.

I feel for you.

We also had an extra 20" of rain too. 45" compared to the normal 23" year to date average.
(We get must of our yearly rain in the winter)

But how can you feel heat or cold without a body?

We don't have heaven and hell.
You only say that because you haven't SEEN either one yet :OD

It got up to 110 MANY days here during the summer. :OP
A friend of mine got back from Iraq though, and put an end to my happy whining. It was 137 degrees in the Anbar province.
That's just...unreal. How do they WORK in that?

First day of autumn it rained here. First rain this year. It's been nicely chilly ever since. Even have a fire going in the fireplace most days :O)

It's one of those special ghost scales, but I don't know what they measure.

But at least now that you are a spirit, you don't have to eat anymore.

Angels eat. Says so right in the bible :OP
Not saying we're angels...just, they eat.
In Genesis 18 it even says God ate. With Abraham. Don't spose He was really hungry. Ironically, he ate dairy and meat together.

Some traditions say that G-d was one of the three strangers that visited Sodom.

Which would explain his reaction to the Sodomites.

With that title, does that mean you are becoming a priest, Franco?
#24 monkeyweather at 4:27 pm on Oct 12, 2007
Hmmm..never thought on that. Hang on Frank, and I'll check!

Okay, it says (Gen 19, right after God ate butter/meat)
And there came two angels to Sodom at even

Okay, so physically I don't think it was Him...but He was there earlier.

I spose in a sense (no longer physical) He was there too, though, and He did say to Abraham: "I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know". And the men turned their faces from thence, and went toward Sodom: but Abraham stood yet before the LORD. (Gen 18)

This may seem like a silly and slightly sacrilidgeous question, but what happened to those who arose following the Crucifixion in the Gospel of Matthew? Did they just walk around for a little bit and then retire to their tombs, or were they alive for good?
