No confirmation from the IDF but I bet it’s true. Ehud Barak is internationally famous for his participation in raids like these behind enemy lines, most notoriously when he dressed as a woman to assassinate PLO leaders in Beirut in 1973. He took over as defense minister from the much-maligned Amir Peretz less than three months ago; this is probably his way of leaving a calling card for Hamas.
Meanwhile, Debka [yeah, I know, but I still want to believe. Ed.] floats a not-unlikely theory about that strange Israeli flyover of Syria a few days ago. Apparently, the IAF was able to jam the Russian-made Syrian anti-aircraft system; it so happens that Iran has the same system. You do the math.
As for the main content of your comment--well, I used to feel that way, but I'd gotten very worried that the miserable leadership had leached away that ability.
I hope it's true, I really do. As much as anything else so that I can get that feeling back.
I guess we'll know tomorrow, once the MSM start condemning Israel. (I still remember the outrage over Entebbe.)
There are two different versions of this story. One says that the IDF came on a donkey drawn carriage and kidnapped him as he was 'working his land.' The other says that IDF soldiers dressed as civilians drove a Subaru into an intersection and forced him to get into the car. I even heard one version on the radio that said that he was taken to the airport in Dhaniyeh (which has been closed since an Israeli security person was murdered on the way there in 2000 - the IDF has long since made mince meat out of the runways) and that he was then taken by helicopter to Israel.

cba, there are more than a few Israeli units who carry out killings and arrests while disguised as Arabs - the 'mistaravim' units. There's the IDF's Duvdevan and the Border Police's YAMAS.
In fact, back in the day, I think AG in Houston used to go in to battle wearing a burka...

I hope it's true, I hope it's true...
At the end of the same post, Hot Air has this:
Here's the source article at YNet.
Am I the only one here who thinks that (if true) this is frigging amazing??!!
I'm afraid to get my hopes worked up. I'll jinx something if I do.
OK, I can buy that.
#3 cba
Nothing, but nothing, that "that shitty little country" does amazes me any longer. One becomes almost blase- it's just one achievement after another.
Earl, it hasn't been confirmed yet.

I read about this at CiJ earlier.
(Sounds like 3 versions.)
Ahem
But of course. And the Turkish official demanding an explanation is so low on the totem pole he doesn't have a name.
Well, this is great if true, and I somehow believe it is.
I also deeply hope the story about jamming the Syrian/Iranian air defense system is likewise true.

This is an Ottoman snub: the lowest functionary is considered to be higher than the highest "Israeli" in the former vilayet.
