The title is stolen from Ace.

The government said in court papers that it is entitled to portray a Texas businessman as so eager to win oil contracts from Saddam Hussein’s government that he told Iraqi officials about the impending U.S. invasion of Iraq and encouraged opposition to the war.

The government argued that jurors should hear about statements that Oscar S. Wyatt Jr. made to win favor with those who handed out lucrative Iraqi oil contracts. The documents were filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan late Thursday for Wyatt’s Sept. 4 trial…

The statements about him were contained in a diary kept by an employee of Iraq’s State Oil Marketing Organization. The diary claims that Wyatt bragged at a Jan. 27, 2003, meeting that he had convinced a U.S. senator to speak out against an attack on Iraq. The diary said Wyatt also discussed the nature of a U.S. invasion of Iraq, including anticipated troop numbers, timing and direction of attack, prosecutors said.

Hard to figure how Teddy K, 'conscience of the Senate' and compleat patriot can possibly be complicit in a pre-war bribery scandal, innit?

Did this oilman promise a big contribution to Teddy's next campaign? Or possibly a much more expensive contribution to Teddy's bar bill?

Oh, Florrie. You have outdone yourself with that one.

#5 floranista at 1:55 pm on Aug 27, 2007

Dances, that's not mine, I just stole it off google images of fat drunken murderer Ted Kennedy.

#6 floranista at 1:57 pm on Aug 27, 2007

I use the RIP Ford school of Photoshop - Beeker, DL Kitty or ev's afro guy would have to make an appearance in there somewhere :-)

Then Florrie, 'top-quality Googling!'

I truly do hope that a search for 'Fat Drunken Murderer' will find exactly the same sites as a search for Teddy K.

Or Seaman Stane, Thomas Tug...

#9 Sister Mary Discipline at 2:02 pm on Aug 27, 2007

Um, that's Theodore Tug, if you don't mind!

(and I was going to include the irrepressible Seaman Stane :-)

I think he'd definitely be in both places, Dances.

Just hard to believe the Kennedy name gets him reelected every time.

I do not believe you could name four less reputable senators.

#13 Frank IBC at 2:29 pm on Aug 27, 2007

Wasn't Inouye involved in some sort of sexual harassment scandal a while back?

#14 levi from queens at 2:32 pm on Aug 27, 2007

Link; but its mostly innuendo.
