Fitness USA, a gym chain, is investigating an alleged civil rights violation involving a local Muslim woman who says her afternoon prayer was interrupted by a fellow patron, and that her complaint to management about the situation was rejected.
"The manager told me, 'You have to respect her (the patron), but she does not have to respect your God,' " said Wardeh Sultan of Dearborn. "I've had my membership for seven or eight years, and I've never had a problem with praying there.
Why can't our politicians have as much sense as the mamager?

It's heartening to see there are still pockets of resistance even in Hizballah City, USA.
I would like to know in what part of the gym the woman was when she was praying, and what the other patron actually said to her, before I pass judgement on this one.

Even if it turns out that the infidel was being a dick this time, that wouldn't override the prudence of making the muslims less, not more, comfortable in this country.

I'm with you. Whether or not the patron was being a jerk isn't the point. The point is, how far backwards are we going to bend in order to please Moslems? Can you really see this being a civil rights violation if one patron made a snarky remark about somebody's cross, or Star of David, or Wiccan crystal? I kind've think not.
I think the real issue here is pushing the envelope, getting the other patrons to act more like good dhimmis. And gyms, with their emphasis on good looks, getting trim and fit, and sometimes (gasp, shudder, horror!) good looking men and women eyeballing each other, are prime targets for Islam.
Though I do suspect they're going to go after bookstores, and Internet Cafe's next.

Was she praying while she was doing crunches? I really hate it when women multi-task like that at the gym.
Who the hell prays at the gym, anyway?
Unless it's 'oh please oh please don't let these weights collapse my arms and fall on my chest smothering me to death'.

One should never bench more than 2 plates w/o a spot, for that very reason.
If she was naked and in the sauna, pointing her butt away from Mecca, I could see where other patrons might be less than pleased.
Not necessarily...

Maybe some people think if they pray hard enough Jesus will spot them.
I didn't consider the possibility of a co-ed sauna.
I doubt that gym is enlightened enough. But still...
This gym really needs a 'Lunk Alarm.'
How does run run on the treadmill in a burka?
She trip trips

Yes, exactly.
