Now that petroleum and natural gas are pricing themselves out of reach, and eco-freakazoids throw mountains of paper in the path of any new nuclear plant, let's be sure to demonize, coal, too.
Of course, this bleating book gets a great write-up in the Times, after all, it is part of their philosophy to harm the US as much as is humanly possible.
Hey, why not ask the people who are "dying of particle air pollution" whether they would rather freeze to death?
For all their high brow scientific talk and intellectual discourse, the eco-crowd is really no better than the Khmer Rouge...wanting to take us back to the Year Zero. They'd prefer that we use no energy resources whatsoever.
I got into it with a friend of mine about that stupid electric car The Man was 'keeping down'. He bought into all the conspiracy nonsense around the movie.
I said "No, the reason it failed was it would only go 200 highway miles on one charge! I can only imagine it would suck more in town."
'Well, still, you'd be saving money at the pump!'
"Yeah, and your electric bill would increase, probably more than what you're paying for gas!"
'Well, you'd still be saving on emissions.'
"Personal vehicle emissions, but what about the power plants? The majority of our electricity generation comes from either coal or oil powered plants. The only true emission free power is nuclear...and I dont see that happening anytime soon."
He grumbled a bit about that.
I like how the article totally skips fission power, which works now, and says our only hope is fusion, which has never worked (on an energy-positive level).

Oh, Hell, yes!

Coal bad - nukes good.
