I think, however, the Friday party started early at SPC.

V the K, come to think of it, Laura comments like a man!
I enter into evidence the following:
Type out whatever opinion you've had on this topic your entire life. Don't waste time with spelling or punctuation, and be careful not to let any new information on the page influence your thoughts.
I found just reading the post a chore - something about the light gray letters on a white background, with distracting bright lavender/fuschia links and sidebar. Maybe I'm just spoiled by my blogging experience here ..

If you dont, the Bloglydytes will come for you. In the night.
Well, for one thing, we're not using regular expressions for simple blacklist type stuff. They're computationally expensive, so we try to minimize the use of them, in favor of simple string functions like stristr(), str_replace() and stripos().
You're right that seemingly, it should be just as easy to search for Vi@gr@ as it is for http://. However, we unambiguously want to block the appearance of words like Vi@gr@ in a comment. We aren't so unambiguous about wanting to block http://. What the regular expression will need to match is instances of http:// that are not inside of <a href=" or <img src=". That looks like it'll be kind of hairy to pull off. Not in the sense of being difficult, but in the sense of being just a tricky pain in the neck to get it exactly right.
My jaw is a bit fuller, my nose a little narrower, and my shoulders much less delicate, but the avatar (the final draft) is pretty close to the real me.

Anal RashAnil Dash was a guy. Why is his blog lavender and fuschia?Because of a problem?
Laura didn't read the link, but she will offer moonbat commentary on it shortly.

I thought some of the comments were funny, especially the ongoing joke about not reading previous comments.

Ah. See, ev's #2 didn't make any sense. But now that I know it's an Achewood thing (is it?) it still doesn't make sense, but I can live with that.
It's an Achewood thing, you wouldn't understand.
Racist!
So this Philippe, he's not real deep, is he?

Maybe you could make some code that finds strings beginning with "http://", and force users to use the "Link" tool?
Not only would it keep Bloggie from breaking, but I have a hunch that it would trap a lot of spam as well.

Interesting idea. I would like to prohibit plaintext http:// links. That'll be one hell of a regular expression to write though.
Philistines.
Why is it harder than say, one that finds "Vi@agr@"?
Oh, never mind, I just realized that it would have to be "http://" that is NOT surrounded by {a href} or any other legitimate tags.

Did someone say chocolate?
florrie, I think it was "wordy," not "chocolate."
But I could be wrong.
Screw the chocolate. I want me some stripos.
Stripos? (If it's in any way related to DLTP, then please forget I asked.)
What's DLTP?
Separated at birth:

Hey, hey, hey....don't screw the chocolate, give it to me:)
Ah. LOL!
I got yer stripos right here, Frank.
Actually there was an even stronger resemblance in the first draft of my avatar.
LOL! I like the avatar you ended up with a lot better.
