God and the Declaration of Independence
Er... what?
A California teacher has been barred by his school from giving students documents from American history that refer to God -- including the Declaration of Independence.

Steven Williams, a fifth-grade teacher at Stevens Creek School in the San Francisco Bay area suburb of Cupertino, sued for discrimination on Monday, claiming he had been singled out for censorship by principal Patricia Vidmar because he is a Christian.

Israel Abroad
I don't know about the rest of Israel's ambassadors but I've seen Mr. David Sasson, the Israeli ambassador to Greece, on interviews. I hate to admit this, but the guy is incomprehensible. He has a very strong accent and he mumbles and I can never understand what he's saying. In a country like Greece, which is not exactly philo-Semitic, the importance of a good ambassador for Israel cannot be overstated.

Mindful of Israel's poor international image, a television station has come up with a unique idea for a reality show — get 14 contestants to represent the country before hostile foreign audiences and choose the best to spread pro-Israel messages throughout the world.

"Hashagrir," or "The Ambassador," which debuted Wednesday, plays into a classic Israeli pet peeve: that the country's diplomats invariably fail to convince foreign audiences that Israel is in the right in its dispute with the Arabs.

Though government professionals reject the charges, criticism of Israel's official information efforts are almost an obsession among Israelis — reflecting a widely held belief that Israel's policies are unassailable, and if they were just explained correctly, the world would support them.

Coming Attractions: SE Asia Biochemical Terrorism
In the Australian today is some dire, likely dead-on prognostication by a Singaporean terrorism expert:
A TERRORISM expert has warned Australia of a new, global generation of Islamist terrorists "armed, trained financed and ideologicised" to use chemical and biological weapons.

In declaring that part of this new global terror wave would come out of Southeast Asia, Singapore-based Rohan Gunaratna said he found the Jemaah Islamiah group had come extremely close to developing "chem-bio" weapons last year, recounting his alarming analysis of a Jemaah Islamiah bio-terror training manual that was taken from a Philippines safe house in late 2003.

The manual gave incorrect manufacturing instructions and lacked safeguards, Dr Gunaratna told an emergency medicine conference in Adelaide yesterday.

Any JI members who had used the methods in the manual would have died or become sick, he said.

"But it is only a question of time that a group that has these intentions will have the capability to develop them," he said.
Hey, Aum Shinrikyo pulled it off over a decade ago. I don't think it'll take the jihadis much longer. We have to keep them on the run and dying like fruit flies or we'll start dying like those dogs in Al Qaeda's cyanide chambers. More if you flip that page open...

Pakistan Still Ducking Tough Questions On AQ Khan
via UPI,

Pakistan rejected yesterday a call by a U.S. think tank to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency access to former top Pakistani nuclear scientist Abdul Qadeer Khan, who has confessed to transferring nuclear technology to Iran, Libya and North Korea.
“That won’t be possible,? Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Masood Khan said. “Our own investigation process is appropriate. Therefore, there is no question of access by international experts from IAEA, either directly or indirectly? (United Press International, Nov. 23).
What are they hiding? Must be hellacious if they won't even let the guy talk to an agency as utterly toothless and feckless as the IAEA. They'll probably slobber all over him the minute they get to meet him. Wet their pants and roll over onto their backs.

Zarqawi Sings The Blues
Abu Musab al Zarqawi has issued another supremely whiny tape. He's outdided himself this time!
"Instead of implementing God's orders, you chose your safety and preferred your money and sons," said the voice, which could not be independently confirmed as al-Zarqawi's. "You left the mujahedeen facing the strongest power in the world." The message was posted on Islamist Web sites.

"Are not your hearts shaken by the scenes of your brothers being surrounded and hurt by your enemy?"
Awwwwwww. My heart is shooken, Abu Musab baby. Shooken with joy. But near, far, wherever you are, I can see that my heart will, my heart will go on! Ya whiny biotch.
You heathens don't speak Arabic (Official Language Of Allah™, who would like to make sure you know that He is Akbar) so you don't know what a clever pun I made. Damn it! "Zarqawi" means "The guy from Zarqa". "Zarqa" means "Blue", it's the name of a Jordanian town. More whining (and heartless mockery by yours truly, a known zionist) inside the fold...

What's In The Iraqi Press?
Some fun stuff today-
  • Stone-age terrorists can't figure out how to broadcast from an FM radio station:
(Al-Mada) – Gunmen allegedly assaulted the Ninawa television building with the aim of airing an announcement after the apparent collapse of security in Mosul. A Ninawa source, who wished to remain nameless, said the gunmen went to the FM section of the building and tried to air an announcement that they had the city under their control. The operation failed because the gunmen could not operate the devices.
  • Al Jazeera Terror Connections: The Iraqi Minister Of Defence has tons to say
(Baghdad) – Qatar’s al-Jazeera satellite television is a terrorist channel, according to Minister of Defence Hazim al-Shalan, who threatened to confront the channel “not only by words?. Shalan said Omar Hadeed is “absolutely? the brother of Jazeera’s office manager in Iraq, Hamid Hadeed. Omar Hadeed is the senior aide of Iraq's most wanted man, the alleged terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi. The Minister accused Hamid Hadeed of having connection with the al-Qaeda terrorist network and of being involved in conducting attacks in Iraq.
  • The Minister of Defence sure talks a lot, don't he? Here he is letting us know Saddam's trial will be starting soon...

(Al-Taakhi) – Minister of Defence Hazim al-Shalan said former President Saddam Hussein would be tried before the end of this year. He added that Saddam “will be tried before elections?.
  • Frenchies surrender enthusiastically

(Al-Sabah al-Jadeed) – Reliable sources informed the paper that the two French journalists kidnapped by armed groups a few months ago are west of Anbar province near the borders. The sources added that the journalists and their kidnappers move freely, and it seems the journalists have adjusted themselves with their kidnappers. The source, which is close to the so-called “Muhammad’s Army?, said the journalists wear local clothes and sometimes film military operations conducted by gunmen.

Ramadan TV
Kuwaiti columnist Ahmad Al-Baghdadi on the television programs aired during Ramadan:
"Political tyranny is the reason the producers of these drama series do their best to avoid dealing with sensitive contemporary issues, and escape into 'art' which projects to the historical past, and take pains to avoid dealing with the harsh reality of the Arabs for fear of the political regime. No writer knows how the regime will interpret his writings and how it will understand them. Not to mention the religious and political prohibitions, the customs and traditions.

"How many series have not been aired for one reason or another? [This is] because fear dominates our lives as Arabs. We are not [living] in countries that believe in liberty, and therefore it is better for a person to be in a safe place, not to cause himself harm, and it is better for a producer not to register losses…

Al-Qaeda's Nuclear Program
Comforting news to help you start your day right.
The Al-Qaeda terror network is fully capable of building a radioactive "dirty bomb" targeting the United States and other Western nations and "has crude procedures" for producing chemical weapons, the CIA warned.

In an annual report to Congress on proliferation threats, the US Central Intelligence Agency also repeated its insistence that Iran was pursuing "a clandestine nuclear weapons program."

Documents recovered by US forces in Afghanistan show that bin Laden and his associates were engaged in what US intelligence officials described as "rudimentary nuclear research."

But the CIA cautions that the true extent of Al-Qaeda's nuclear program "is unclear," suggesting it could be more advanced than originally thought.

Outside experts, such as Pakistani nuclear engineer Bashir al-Din Mahmood, may have provided assistance to Al-Qaeda's nuclear program, according to the report.

Bashir reportedly met with bin Laden and discussed nuclear weapons with him, the CIA asserted.

American Islam
Maybe America will be the place where an Islamic reformation will start. Maybe U.S. Muslims will be at the forefront of this change. America has always been a leader, so why not here?
"After 9/11, established leaders were reluctant to hear self-critique or analyze our values and positions," says Shahed Amanullah, editor-in-chief of altmuslim.com, one of several websites that provide alternative news and commentary for the Muslim community. "A lot of Muslims have done some soul-searching, rethinking the violence and the ghettoized mentality. New voices are being articulated, and a lot of people are coming out of the woodwork."

In fact, over the past year, some mosques have become responsive as congregants demand less fire and brimstone and greater equality, including allowing women to pray in the main prayer halls and to enter the mosque through the main door rather than through a side or back entrance. Writing in Time magazine, Asra Nomani, author of the forthcoming "Standing Alone in Mecca," about women in Islam, speculates that a "quiet tide of Islamic reform is very much underway." She notes that last year, women at the Downtown Islamic Center in Chicago demanded access to the main prayer hall at a new mosque that was being built -- and got it. And a mosque in Morgantown, Virginia, recently fired a student preacher who called on Muslims to "hate and renounce" the "cursed" Jews and Christians. In the past, progressives say, such incitement elicited little reaction.
