I wanted to enjoy this long weekend without news but I kept checking the news nonetheless for any developments about Gilad Shalit. I keep hoping for a miracle, that his kidnappers will release him somewhere, alive. The more I read, the more I despaired because it seems that logic has flown out the window. The focus is, as usual, on Israel's actions, like Israel decided to invade Gaza out of the blue and for no reason at all.
On a less depressing note, North Korea tested a few missiles
and failed spectacularly. I don't have much confidence in the competence of military dictatorships, so I'm not really scared of North Korea missiles hitting California. But I'm wondering what will happen next and what the repercussions will be for Kim Jong Il - if there are any repercussions. The security council is meeting in the morning to decide.
